| CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION |
Climate change will likely have lethal effects on every aspect of human life. The associated risks call for a broad spectrum of policy responses and strategies at every level. On the one hand, mitigation seeks to limit climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. On the other, adaptation aims to alleviate the adverse impacts of climate change.
Local communities are already facing the consequences: Increased cyclones, floods and earthquakes, changing rainfall patterns and new diseases. Adaptation is the most logical approach to ensure that their resources are not further depleted.
SEEDS adaptation work focuses on designing safer houses, education of schools and local communities, awareness building in urban areas and piloting suitable local solutions. |
